A temperature zone is an independently controlled section of a wine fridge, each set to a different temperature. Single zone fridges maintain one consistent temperature throughout; dual zone fridges have two separate compartments, each with its own thermostat.

A single zone fridge maintains one temperature across the entire cabinet. This makes it ideal for:

Dual Zone Wine Fridges

A dual zone fridge has two independently controlled temperature sections, typically stacked vertically. This allows you to:

  • Cater to households where different people prefer different wines

Serving Temperature vs Storage Temperature

It's worth understanding the distinction:

  • Storage temperature (for ageing): 12–14°C for most wines
  • Serving temperature: 16–18°C for full-bodied reds, 10–12°C for light reds and full-bodied whites, 7–9°C for sparkling and light whites
